Omanexpo has been shortlisted for two awards at the Middle East Event Awards after entering for the first time.

The organiser has been shortlisted for two of the awards ceremony’s most sought after categories: ‘Best Employer of the Year’ and ‘Best Trade Show’ for Food & Hospitality Oman.

Their entries and nominations highlight the huge amount of transformation Omanexpo has undergone and highlights an exciting time for the business, who recently launched their online webinar series supporting their stakeholder businesses through the COVID-19.

The last 12 months have seen a revolution in the company culture at Omanexpo. Driven by senior management and their HR team, Omanexpo has worked hard to revitalise the workplace and create an employee-centric environment which puts employees at the heart of the organisation.

Ashley Roberts, General Manager at Omanexpo said: “The building blocks for success were already there from the positive attitudes and fantastic talent of our team. Our challenge was in creating an organisation that developed staff to the best of their abilities, gave employees a sense of direction and purpose and brought them onboard for the next evolution of Omanexpo.

“To do this, we focused our attention on building a more collaborative environment and creating a workplace and environment that stimulated our employees and motivated them on a daily basis and made them feel safe enough to share their thoughts and ideas and that their concerns were being listened to. Trust is a key component of a restored workplace which often is driven by transparency of business goals and compassionate and empathetic communication between all employees."

In October 2019, the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre opened its doors to the 14th edition of Food & Hospitality Oman. This year saw some impressive statistics – a staggering 49% increase in visitor attendance as well an 11% boost in exhibition space, which was utilised by more than 600 local and international brands. The exhibition is Oman’s longest-running food and hospitality show and showcased leading exporters of food and hospitality products, services and equipment from 21 countries.

Vivek Srivastava, Project Manager for Food & Hospitality Oman commented: “For Food & Hospitality Oman 2019 we wanted to make sure the show demonstrated the vast industry that is food and hospitality. The show continues to grow and working with our customers and the OCEC is always a positive experience.”

The Middle East Event Awards will take place on 14-15 October 2020 at The Madinat, Jumeirah Dubai, bringing together the who’s who of the industry for an evening of celebration. Networking and world class entertainment.
