The Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) 2021 conference bid win announced today for Auckland continues the momentum of bookings at the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC).  This is just one of several recently confirmed.

The three-day conference and exhibition will be held at the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) and is expected to attract more than 1,700 delegates and 200 exhibitors, who will stay a total of  8,700 visitor nights and contribute an estimated spend of $3.3 million while they are here.

The NZICC has now confirmed 14 major international conferences seeing 27,000 delegates visit Auckland between 2020 and 2022.  Seven of these conferences have been formally announced and will bring an estimated $31.75m economic impact, with 84,000 room nights.

Callum Mallett, General Manager NZICC Operations, is delighted by the bookings secured to date.

"We are proud to be part of a collaborative team bringing conferences like APAIE to Auckland and contributing significant economic impact back to the city. NZICC’s demonstrated flexibility and capacity to support this conference’s future growth was a key factor in securing this business.

“The NZICC will be a world-class facility and a beautiful venue in which to meet and network in the heart of downtown Auckland. The NZICC is going to generate a significant amount of economic investment and activity in Auckland and New Zealand, with conferences on a large international scale, as well as servicing the domestic market.”

Capable of hosting conferences of around 3,150 people and one-off events of around 4,000 people, the NZICC will have 33 meeting spaces and a 2850 seat theatre. One of the hallmarks of the NZICC is its flexibility and adaptability making it a versatile conference, exhibition and entertainment space.
