The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) has announced that it will host three significant medical and scientific conferences over the coming years, the 28th International Nursing Research Congress in 2017, the 10th World Congress of Pain in 2018 and the Festival of Neuroscience in 2019.

Speaking about the announcement, Nick Waight, CEO of The CCD said that the three association conferences which were secured in conjunction with Dublin Convention Bureau (DCB), will signify a massive boost for the local economy, collectively attracting over 5,000 delegates and generating revenue worth an estimated €6.5 million. “We are absolutely thrilled these prestigious associations have chosen The CCD and Dublin as the destination for their high profile conferences. I think it is a testament to the work that we and our partners in the Irish business tourism industry have achieved in promoting Ireland as a centre of excellence and innovation, and as a place to come to do business,” he said.

The 28th International Nursing Research Congress, hosted by the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), will welcome more than 900 delegates over five days in July 2017. Joni Wallman, Meeting Planner at STTI commented, “Dublin and The CCD will serve as the perfect backdrop for our nursing researchers, students, clinicians and leaders from around the world.

The 10th World Congress of Pain (WIP2018), organised by the World Institute of Pain, is expected to attract 2,500 pain management specialists for its three-day conference in May 2018.

The Festival of Neuroscience (BNA2019) is the flagship meeting of the British Neuroscience Association which will be co-hosted by Neuroscience Ireland in April 2019. Stafford Lightman, BNA2019 President Elect commented, “BNA2019 will bring around 1,500 neuroscientists from all over the world to Dublin to discuss the latest development in brain research and The CCD will provide us with a world-class venue to facilitate this.”
