European Congress of Clinical Neurophysiology (ECCN) 30 August - 2 September 2017

The European Chapter of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology (EC-IFCN) and the Hungarian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology will organise the ECCN 2017 in Budapest.

The Hungarian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology was founded in 1957, among the first ones in the world in this field. The Society’s main ambition is to promote the development of clinical and experimental neurophysiology, to improve and expand scientific knowledge in the field, and to provide high level specialized professional education to its members, so the ECCN 2017 will promote these goals as well. Otherwise the ECCN has already been held in Budapest, this was 1994.

In 2017 the Hungarian Society will have its 60th anniversary and the International Federation will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its foundation. It will be a great pleasure to salute these occasions together with the representatives of the fellow international societies in Hungary at the ECCN 2017.

Theme of the Congress: Clinical neurophysiology - Unrestrained potentials

The previous event, ECCN 2015 was held in Brno, Czech Republic. Budapest was in competition with Leipzig for the 2017 congress. The event will take place in Hall G where the congress sessions will be accompanied by an exhibition, too. About 1000 participants are expected at the ECCN 2017.

The future

HUNGEXPO’s progress seems to be unstoppable as there are numerous large international events confirmed for the following years as well. Budapest has been gaining more and more attention of not only leisure tourists but among event organizers also, thus the Hungarian capital is unquestionably getting back on the map.

Even though the recent terrorist attacks in Europe had influenced the old continent’s popularity in a negative way, Hungary is still not affected and is considered one of the safest countries also proven by receiving the remarkable 22nd rank of the Global Peace Index in 2015.
