The leading event for the UK inbound and outbound meetings industry, The Meetings Show, has opened registration for its hosted buyer programme today, Monday 5 February.

Taking place on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 June at Olympia London, The Meetings Show will welcome over two thousand UK and international buyers to do business with over 700 exhibitors.

Pre-qualified meeting and event buyers accepted onto the programme will benefit from exclusive networking opportunities, access to invaluable education sessions – tailored into association, and agency streams – and the opportunity to pre-schedule appointments with key suppliers from around the world.

The hosted buyer programme is open to planners from event management agencies, venue finding companies, incentive houses, associations, PCOs, AMCs, charities, government and corporate organisations.

The Meetings Show is taking a new two-day format for the first time in 2018, which will ensure buyers achieve the greatest value from attending.

Della Penfold, hosted buyer programme manager for The Meetings Show, said: “The new two-day format means less of a time commitment for buyers and makes their time away from the office more productive. We’ve also streamlined the options for attendance, enabling buyers to choose the one that is most appropriate to their needs and requirements.

Unlike some trade shows, we don’t carry out appointment matches. Buyers are in control and choose all their own appointments based on who they want to meet, so all the meetings are about real business needs and interest.”

The changes to the format of the show have been welcomed by those who have taken part in the hosted buyer programme in previous years. Paula Kelsey, managing director of Cloud 9 Event Management said: “The new format of The Meetings Show will enable a more concentrated and focused approach for agents looking to connect with new suppliers, as well as enjoying the great education sessions that also accompany the show. It’s always enjoyable attending The Meetings Show, and now that it’s over two days rather than three, the opportunity to co-ordinate diaries and ensure you can target your appointments in a more structured way can only be a benefit for both agents and suppliers.”

The Meetings Show will be accepting applications to join the hosted buyer programme from Monday 5 February.
