ExCeL London is reporting a strong start to 2018, with a series of new events relocating to the venue.

Shows relocating from Olympia to ExCeL include Learning Technologies (a showcase of organisational learning and the technology used to support learning at work) and Employee Benefits Live, which will be taking place in October. Bridal Trade and White Gallery, which was previously held at Battersea Evolution, also aims to grow their event by moving to ExCeL

New launches for ExCeL include Plant based Live which will take place in September, delivering the facts about living a healthy plant based life, free from animal derived products. In 2019, the world’s leading international airport conference and exhibition Passenger Terminal Expo will relocate from Sweden to London and have chosen ExCeL as their host venue.

On the conference side of the business, ExCeL will welcome both EAES (European Association for Endoscopic Surgery) and IADR (International Association for Dental Research) this year, as well as the return of Diabetes UK, which will be held at the venue for the third time. Corporate clients will include the likes of Adobe, Salesforce, Tableau and, in 2019, the global financial services event, Sibos.

2019 will also see the return of EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) for the third time. The EAGE Conference and Exhibition is the world's largest and most comprehensive multi-disciplinary geoscience and engineering event.

The world’s biggest gathering of heart specialists, ESC (European Society for Cardiology) is set to return to London in 2021; a huge vote of confidence in London’s position as a world-class city for conferences and events, as well as a leading centre for medical research.

Jeremy Rees, Acting CEO of ExCeL London, said: “From global brand showcases to international association meetings and world-renowned exhibitions, events at ExCeL are thriving. Every year we bring together 4 million people from all over the world to meet, trade and do business. Events at our venue experience an average visitor uplift of 15%, with over 300 world-leading events hosted annually. With the opening of the Elizabeth line in December 2018, the future is set to be even better. ExCeL will have its own onsite Elizabeth line station, delivering an additional 18,000 visitors per hour. By dramatically reducing journey times, it will allow visitors to spend more time at events and access the very best of what London has to offer in record time.”

Mark Penton, Event Director, Learning Technologies, commented: “We are now ready to take the Learning Technologies Conference and Exhibition to the next stage and build a truly world-class event for all those involved in workplace learning and the technology which supports it. We have outgrown our current venue and the move to ExCeL London in 2019 opens up a wide range of exciting opportunities for the event as it continues to grow and develop.”
