DMC Network Partner DeSilva Celebrates MPI Aloha Presidents Award Winner Lauren Manual

The DMC Network is delighted to celebrate Lauren Manuel on receiving the MPI Aloha Chapter Presidents Award this year. Lauren is an Account Executive with DeSilva Meeting Consultants – the DMC Network’s partner in Hawaii.

Lauren is a current board member of the MPI Aloha Chapter, serving as VP of Communications residing on Hawai’i Island. The 2018 President of the MPI Aloha Chapter Mary Neister, chose Lauren for this year's coveted award based on her dedication and focus to make the chapter an ‘all-inclusive’ experience, with events connecting both members and prospective members regardless of their physical location. One such event, the ‘all-island social’ was the first of its kind within MPI. Board Members from each of the major Hawaiian Islands – Oahu, Maui, Big Island and Kauai – all got together on the same day at the same time for a local event, and connected each event through various social media such as Facebook Live and Twitter, creating a virtual network to share education, best practices and resources.

‘’Being a chapter that is separated by the ocean has its challenges, but we put our heads together and found a way to connect with one another without physically being together, creating an exciting virtual network to exchange ideas, share best practices, and grow as a Chapter.'' said Lauren. ''Some of our board members had the opportunity to attend the Annual Business Summit in Dallas, Texas earlier this year. We were able to share our “All Island Social” concept with other MPI board members and it was really well received. Similar chapters have already adopted this concept to implement in their regions. Being able to contribute valuable ideas such as this to our Association is such a rewarding feeling and I am proud to have been able to contribute.’’

Speaking of Lauren’s recognition Dan Tavrytzky, Managing Director of The DMC Network, said ‘’We are proud supporters of many industry Associations – we truly believe this is an essential part of operating as a successful DMC partnership. We are delighted to see one of our members recognized for her work and look forward to continuing to support MPI grow and connect members globally.’’

Following this recognition, Lauren has been named as President-Elect for the MPI Aloha Chapter for 2018.
