Destinations International, the world’s largest resource for official destination organizations, convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs) and tourism boards, has announced the “We’re Here to Help” recovery campaign to unify the meetings, events and travel industry. The campaign aims to demonstrate that when the unexpected happens and it is not “business as usual” that Convention and Visitors Bureaus (CVBs) play a critical role and valuable resource for recovery.

Even though meetings, events and travel have taken a pause, the ability to help business event strategists has not changed. While meetings may never go back to the way they were, CVBs provide a level of actionable, real-time, boots-on-the-ground intelligence that is essential in reimagining what a successful meeting looks like as we move forward in uncertain times.

Campaign partners include Destinations International, Events Industry Council (EIC), Experiential Designers + Producers Association (EDPA), International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), Meetings Mean Business, Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Northstar Meetings Group and Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).

Through the collective effort of these industry partners, the campaign will drive awareness of a CVB's ability to help planners navigate in an ever-changing landscape. The website will link to over 120 CVB destination sites and contacts available to help solve the needs of planners and attendees by servicing meetings with insider knowledge and established connections within the community.

Additionally in late June, through a collaborative effort with multiple industry partners, Cvent will launch a new feature on the Cvent Supplier Network, the world’s largest venue sourcing platform, that will give CVBs the ability to build relationships with planners by helping them source venues for their events. The feature will also be accessible from the “We’re Here to Help” campaign site.

“There is no substitute for people working together to overcome dramatic and difficult challenges,” said Don Welsh, president and CEO of Destinations International. “This campaign shows the resilience of our industry and how when we come together, great things are possible. CVBs are the community connectors and will continue to be an essential extension of an event strategist’s team and help navigate what events will look like in the future.”

This campaign is just one of the ways Destinations International is working to drive awareness of the value convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs) deliver to the meetings and event industry. As a strategic initiative of the association, Destinations International works to elevate the critical role CVBs have on the event planning process and work to educate CVB members with tools, resources and best practices to successfully deliver that value.
