The B2B marketplace, in its 5th year now, features Canadian incentive product and is held annually rotating west/east each year.  The event generates business leads with a potential revenue of $3-5 million.  With a specially curated program, this year’s event brought together 30 Canadian suppliers and 40 qualified incentive buyers from Europe (10) and United States (30) to conduct 1-on-1 meetings, while providing opportunities to explore a destination of unique contrasts. Winnipeg and the province’s iconic attractions, impressive venues, and immersive experiences made it a distinctive choice for Incentive Canada 2017.

The featured 2017 destination, Travel Manitoba and partners, Tourism Winnipeg, sponsored the offsite evenings showcasing their incentive product and highlighting the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, and Assiniboine Park Conservancy. A post trip to Churchill, Manitoba for 15 buyers followed after the main event to showcase the “Arctic Safari” incentive experience.

The four-day event took place at one of the city’s most recognizable architectural landmarks, the century-old Fort Garry Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre. Located in downtown Winnipeg, the hotel features more than 54,000 square feet of event space, including four stunning ballrooms.

Chantal Sturk-Nadeau, Executive Director of BEC, commented: “Canada is an amazing country for incentive buyers with an array of options ranging from legendary to luxury experiences.  More than a vast landscape punctuated with distinct urban, resort, mountain and coastal destinations; Canada is home to extraordinary incentives experiences including Wilderness safaris, Rocky Mountain retreats, Polar bear watching, Counting icebergs, Cosmopolitan luxury getaways and Indulgent terroir-driven culinary experiences”.

Sturk-Nadeau added: “As we enter our 150th year, Canada is coming of age as a world class, four-season destination. Lonely Planet, the New York Times, National Geographic, and Condé Nast have selected Canada and its travel experiences as the go-to destination for 2017. For both hosted buyers and industry partners this translates to increased attendance and delegate engagement when an invitation is extended to meet here”.

Emma Cashmore, Managing Director of Axis Travel Marketing, the European representative for the BEC, commented: “Canada’s near-record visitation levels in 2016 are a testament to its reputation on the international stage as a vibrant, culturally rich and inviting destination. Last year, international arrivals surpassed the world average nearly three-to-one with an international growth of 11%, welcoming some 20 million visitors. Having just been voted the World’s Most Reputable country 2017 by the Reputation Institute, Canada is considered one of the most beautiful countries on earth offering endless options for incentive planners, with its chic, connected cities on the doorstep of pristine wilderness”.
