With a new development strategy, strengthened teams and commercial policies, and the launch of a new website, Congrès et Expositions de Bordeaux is ready to expand its event hosting activity in France and internationally and propel Bordeaux into the top 3 French cities for business tourism. In order to achieve these new ambitions and support its development, Congrès et Expositions de Bordeaux, a key player in the greater South West region of France, has launched its brand, "Bordeaux Events".

Bordeaux Events, a catalyst for business tourism
With total revenue of 27.3 million euros in 2014 (+5% compared to 2013) and 105 employees, Congrès et Expositions de Bordeaux is a major economic player with activities centred on two areas of expertise:
"Event Production", for producing and organising major events (exhibitions for the general public, trade events, sports competitions);
"Event Hosting", for business and/or the general public.

Under an operating agreement and with a commercial lease, Congrès et Expositions de Bordeaux operates 4 major sites in Bordeaux: the Exhibition Centre, the Convention Centre, the Cité Mondiale Convention Centre and Hangar 14.

Today, Congrès et Expositions de Bordeaux is launching a new "Bordeaux Events" brand, with the goal of raising the profile of the "Event Hosting" business by promoting its expertise and events. With this brand, the management of Congrès et Expositions de Bordeaux is seeking primarily to move into a new territory of communication and to clearly demonstrate that the focus is on clients and their events.

Much more than a "space rental" service, Bordeaux Events is truly a partner for events organisers. Run by Karine Santa-Maria, this division has 22 employees who place their expertise at the service of key accounts, institutional investors, organisations, learned societies, and regional, national and international companies. In 2014, Bordeaux Events hosted 300 events with 550,000 conventioneers and participants.

A strong ambition to make Bordeaux one of the top 3 cities for hosting events
With this new identity, Congrès et Expositions de Bordeaux promotes Bordeaux as a destination in order to propel the city into the top 3 French cities for business tourism. Bordeaux Events aims to boost the city's influence with the goal of attracting major regional, national and international events such as:
ITS World Congress: 5-9 October 2015 at the Exhibition Centre, 10,000 visitors

  • 9th International Abilympics, Olympics of skills for disabled people: 25-26 March 2016 at the Exhibition Centre,
  • 80 to 100,000 visitors
  • 8th World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology: 30 May-4 June 2016 at the Convention Centre, 1,800 conventioneers
  • 11th European Congress of Neuropathology: 6-9 July 2016 the Cité Mondiale Convention Centre, 500 participants

Bordeaux Events also intends to contribute to the development of business clusters and sectors of excellence in the Aquitaine region by providing support in the organization of specific events for these sectors.
