After Barcelona in 2015 and Copenhagen in 2016, Frankfurt am Main is the chosen destination for the Association and Conference Forum's (AC Forum) next annual general assembly, which runs from 19 to 21 January 2017. AC Forum is Europe’s only networking platform for scientific associations with in-house congress staff.

The hundred or so participants of the AC Forum 2017 organize annually around 100 congresses with over 250,000 participants. The majority are medical congresses, but membership is open to other disciplines, too. This annual meeting provides an opportunity for the members, drawn primarily from senior management or else conference managers, to exchange experiences and information.

The Frankfurt Convention Bureau and Congress Frankfurt, the department of Messe Frankfurt that markets the exhibition grounds for meetings and conventions, acquired the event jointly. The close working relationship and mutual trust of the two partners were decisive factors in the success of the application. “For Frankfurt, this represents a wonderful opportunity to allow congress decision-makers to experience first-hand the advantages of our destination,” says Jutta Heinrich, Director of the Frankfurt Convention Bureau. Adds Claudia Delius-Fischer, the Director of Congress Frankfurt: “The additive possibilities for congresses on the premises of Messe Frankfurt, with the Congress Center, the Festhalle and the exhibition halls offer the big association congresses the ideal playing field for their complex requirements.” Both are convinced that the event will contribute towards pushing Frankfurt am Main still further up the European rankings as a congress destination.
