From May 23-24, ASAE will hold its first Europe CEO Symposium at the NH Amsterdam Centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The CEO Symposium provides CEOs and their newly-elected officers an opportunity to strategize on governance and volunteer culture for the organization. Glenn H. Tecker, chairman and co-CEO of Tecker International, will lead the two-day program.

For more than 30 years, the CEO Symposium has been very successful within the U.S. and Canada. We are expanding the program into Europe, so our international members can work together to anticipate challenges they are facing, enhance their leadership skills, and plan strategically for the next year,” said ASAE President & CEO John H. Graham, IV, FASAE, CAE.

The program provides top members of the leadership team a chance to create measurable results for the mission and success of the organization. Participants will also create and anticipate challenges facing the association industry, learn the importance of research and strategy in decision making, enhance relationships with the board and staff, and develop successful practices in strategic planning, innovation and organizational culture.

Senior association professionals and volunteer leaders are often called upon to consider how the ever-changing business, technological, social, and political landscapes will transform the organizations they represent. Leaders must be equipped with the tools, resources, and skills to guide and direct dynamic conversations around environmental scanning and planning for change.

The CEO Symposium will also include information from the ASAE Foundation’s new research initiative, ASAE ForesightWorks. It will deliver important data about current business and association drivers of change. The two-part session will address the value of foresight, creating a culture of foresight, and how associations may exemplify the “duty of foresight” into their board and committee orientations. Program resources will be used to demonstrate how a continual stream of intelligence about anticipated trends can be applied and integrated to stimulate meaningful discussions and action.

Tecker has more than 35 years of experience assisting associations and corporations in planning for change and an expert on leadership and strategy. Previously, he worked in an executive capacity with businesses, public agencies, and nonprofit organizations and served as a board member for many nonprofit and for-profit organizations.
