TwitchCon San Diego

Following a successful proof of concept at TwitchCon Amsterdam, Nielsen Sports & Entertainment commissioned Meshh to deploy its spatial analytics services again at TwitchCon San Diego, October 7-9, 2022 as part of a comprehensive event measurement programme.

Meshh is a global provider of enterprise-class location-based intelligence and interaction solutions for event organisers, venues, brands and the retail sector. The business has offices in London, New York and Sydney.

The Meshh technology passively captures footfall, engagement, dwell time, impact, frequency, and journey paths, providing clients with a clear picture of people’s behaviour in that location. Meshh technology provides understanding into individual behaviour within physical spaces such as live events, brand experiences, trade exhibitions, retail spaces, transport hubs and many more.

Greg Morris, research director, Nielsen Sports & Entertainment, said, “Our goal in Amsterdam was to measure the behaviour of visitors at the show and their relationship with the Expo Hall, merchandise, activities and content scheduling and to provide detailed metrics for our commercial partners.”

“For the first time, we were able to understand how people spend their time when they are with us, setting benchmarks for San Diego and beyond,” added Morris.

The data and insights provided by Meshh are used to improve event planning and space design, measure engagement with event assets, illustrate to sponsors and advertisers how much exposure their brand achieves, demonstrate ROI to stakeholders and commercial partners, and provide a benchmark for future events and activations.

Caroline McGuckian, CEO, Meshh, added, “We’re delighted to have worked with Nielsen Sports & Entertainment again in October. Twitchcon is a landmark event for the brand. Its global reach creates plenty of commercial opportunities for partners and our data will be used in the planning of future activity.”
