The Italian capital has won the bid to host the International Congress of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery 2022; ICSES is to be held at La Nuvola Congress Centre in Rome in May. Held every three years, ICSES 2022 represents a top-level meeting for surgeons who specialize in shoulder and elbow surgery. The Congress will welcome more than 3.000 participants from around the world.
During the final vote, held in Jeju (Korea), and after a brilliant presentation by Professors Stefano Gumina and Alex Castagna, Presidents of the Congress of Rome, the Eternal city won over Boston (USA). Rome had already been selected by the European Shoulder and Elbow Society board (SECEC) as the best destination among all the other European capitals.
AIM Group International Sales & Marketing Team started working on this bid in 2014 and dealt with local institutions. The team also relied on a strategic collaboration with La Nuvola Congress Centre. This new congress venue is a futuristic multifunctional centre, designed by the famous Italian Starchitect Massimiliano Fuksas and is characterised by innovative features and the use of technologically advanced materials. The building with its "suspended cloud" is designed, not only to functionally cover the exposition area of the forum, but also connects to the various meeting rooms and links the basement with the overlying auditorium offering a different view from each side of the building. Numerous options have been adopted to reduce energy consumption by using renewable energy sources.
Tecnoconference TCGroup, a leading technology company, was involved with the bid’s technical presentation. They prepared an amazing video with interactive comments from the Congress Presidents Professors Gumina and Castagna. The innovative video, combining the technology of green screen and graphic animation, allowed them to present the venue in an engaging and immersive way. In particular, the video created a 3D environment to show the layout and the functions of the spaces which, for this occasion, were customised with the graphic line of the event, created to support the candidature.
Professors Gumina and Castagna stated "It's a great victory, we are very proud of it and we are sure that ICSES 2022 will be a very successful event for Rome and for the global scientific community. This important achievement is the result of a great teamwork, and we are sure that this strong collaboration will be the basis for the success of ICSES 2022.”
Enrico Palazzi, CEO of EUR Ltd. (the company that runs the Congress Center La Nuvola), comments “La Nuvola, the new congress centre of Rome, is the ideal venue for the ICSES 2022 Congress. Its innovative features will ensure a great conference experience for all attendees. This is an important acquisition for Rome which will soon become a reference point for international association congresses. I am also very proud to have undertaken this collaboration with AIM Group International and look forward to the acquisition of other international congresses.”
AIM Group International President Gianluca Buongiorno adds “It is a very important achievement for all our team. This success confirms our Group as a leading company and the right partner for international associations when they need guidance and experience in managing winning bids.”
