The Association of Australian Convention Bureaux (AACB) launched the annual conference themed Customer Experience: Laneways to Success to be held in Melbourne, 18-20 September 2019.

Celebrating its 30th year, the conference embraces a new vision and audience with a rebranded event titled Destination Business Events.

Destination Business Events is a place where the demand side of the business events industry will come together with the common goal of growing Australia’s business events competitiveness. Values of the conference feature collaboration, connection, growth and advocacy.

AACB CEO, Andrew Hiebl explained, “The AACB annual conference offers a unique opportunity for competitors in our industry to network, share ideas, discuss trends and issues and work collaboratively in order to grow the overall business events market in and for Australia.”

“Through the success of recent conferences, we look to further grow and enhance this event as one for all industry partners with an interest in attracting business events through bidding and business development activities.”

Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) CEO, Karen Bolinger said, “The MCB is thrilled to host the Destination Business Events conference in Melbourne this September. This is a wonderful opportunity for convention bureaux, convention centres and destination marketing organisations across Australia to come together to network, engage and learn at the 30th annual conference powered by the AACB.”

The 2019 conference theme Customer Experience: Laneways to Success explores customer needs (including association and corporate clients, meeting planners, delegates and industry stakeholders) and how we evolve products and services to drive longer lasting relationships, greater loyalty, improved customer experiences and ultimately greater business success.

Inspirational speakers, dynamic case studies, interactive workshops, robust discussions and immersive experiences will take place over 2.5 days with delegates experiencing Melbourne’s premier convention and exhibition centre, unique city venues, superb food and wine; and receive wonderful hospitality at the new Novotel Melbourne South Wharf.

The AACB looks forward to welcoming staff and executives from convention bureaux, convention centres, key accommodation brands, airlines, tourism and economic development offices and business events media to the Destination Business Events conference, Customer Experience: Laneways to Success.

Registrations open week commencing 18 March 2019.
